Lissy Laricchia (18)
"Lives between a tall forest and an old cornfield' (Canada).
She is still breathing in the forest and taking photographs.
She started photography as a way of artistic expression when she was 13 and never studied photography. She started when a friend had a project and wanted to try it out. She then became more interested in photography by Flickr and Pintrest. Lissy seems to be more of an artist photographer who enjoys her self portraits. And is working on a project with similar photographers in NYC. Lissy tends to focus her shots around one subject, her photos tend to be inspired by Disney, Tim Burton, and dolls. This would exlain her whimsical feel to her photos. I chose Lariccia as my inspiration, because of the complicated yet light feel to her photos. She captures such a soft magical sense to her photo, yet they are so intriguing and complex. To emulate this photo I will go into the woods area behind my house and have my sister pose for the photo. Ill try to have my sister wear a similar white dress and have the dress hang from a tree as she hides behind it. I will try to capture the photo when it is sunny lighting and recreate the whimsical feel.

This photo does have a high contrast. The bright whites of the dress and the lighting coming in from the behind the subject adds the magic to the photo. This photo maybe over exposed, but it does not take away from the impact and composition of the image. The photo is focused, there is no blur or motion implied in the photo. Laricchia took the photo straight on point of view, she did not take the image from a crazy angle. Most of her photos are taken directly looking at the model. The overall composition of the photo is balanced. It is not completely asymmetrical, but there is not a complete difference in the shot. The photo has a vertical rule of thirds grid and very basic. The subject is obviously the model in her dress. Taking the photo vertically is the best option for the shot. It shows the height and frames the photo well. There is depth in the photo with the varying horizons in the forest. There is no present motion in the image or leading. The photo is quite imaginative, to remove the models face and body, forces the viewer to really see the dress and the lighting of the composition. This photo ,and the rest of Laricchia's photos, is consumingly interesting. The photo is so fresh and new compared to other photographers. The direct point of view has been done before, but the finished composition is too interesting to be bored by the point of view. This photo evokes feelings of whimsy and lightness but also manages to creep out and disturb the viewer.
My reflection was successful because I was able to imitated the original photo somewhat . The lighting and blur in this photo could be improved to make it more successful
