Tangled Sand Stop Motion
This last stop motion animation I did was a sand stop motion, with Jess. After researching sand art videos on YouTube we discovered the unlimited possibilities sand art has. After a lot of time brainstorming Jess and I decided to make a video involving Tangled. To start our video we showed the tower and the Tangled titles, then with different sand techniques we created an animation that shows Rapunzel singing and her hair glowing then her hair was cut off and it stop glowing. Using movie maker we added a little bit of music magic to make the video great.
Orange Ya' Glad I Didn't Say Banana
This stop motion video was done in a group using oranges. The criteria for this project were to be at least 30 secs, have two point of views, a storyboard, music, and involve cutting the orange. Our group decide to make an interpretive orange dance video. We started with a full orange and by cutting and moving the orange slices around we created several dancing oranges. The orange then formed a winky smiley face. We had two different camera a angles in this video by changing the location of the camera. After taking our stop motion shots, I moved the shots to movie maker. Our group decided to edit the video dramatically. The music we chose was church music and a very eerie song. The music gave our video the mood we desired.
Final Reflection
After carefully looking back at my Weebly portfolio for the past year, I have been able to reflect on a lot of aspects of my previous work. My favorite piece of work was the Roy Lichtenstein portraits. This project involved a lot of use of Illustrator and Photoshop, which are my favorite programs to use, so I went into this project with a lot of enthusiasm. The artistic freedom with this project was another perk, although the use of the pen tool was difficult I learned to master the tool with this project. My least favorite project was probably the Thayer Street Map. I did not hate this assignment because it was too difficult or too involved, but because I was not satisfied with my final piece. I tried to make my map more artistic and interpretive, but I feel like the final outcome was cluttered, messy, and not what I had originally envisioned. If I could redo a project it would probably be the Thayer Street Map. I would take the second opportunity to plan better and execute my project the way I originally wanted. I would try to be less messy with my work and take more time to make sure the details are all the way I wanted. This year was very beneficially educationally for computer programs. I have learned new techniques like the pen tool and clipping mask in Illustrator. In Photoshop I have become familiar with new selection tools I had never used in the previous two years. In both programs I have found that layers has become such an easy tool to use in all projects. Overall this year has taught me how to plan and organize my work better. I can take these skills into college to use on future projects and to help me pursue a Graphics career. These new skills will provide a foundation for my graphics ability later on. Since I plan on going to school for Graphics everything I have learned this year will be extremely helpful.
