911 Memorial: Day 1
Today, December 2, 2011, our graphics class took our first visit to the Somerset Fire Fighter Police station. At the station we met up with Chief Jepson, who showed us one of the designs for the memorial. The memorial is going to feature a 600lbs peice of steel from one of the 911 attacks. The memorial will be a public dispaly at the station and will face out towards the street. One of our shcool's desgin classes will take on the task of builiding the actual memorial, while the graphics class works on promotional feautres. They will transform the open field near the station into an area. Below our pictures of the space for the steel and the tempoaray memorial now.
9/11 Memorial Brochure
In continuation with our previous 9/11 project, we were asked to create a brochure to advertise the 9/11 memorial to the town of Somerset. Each page needed o have certain elements that were asked of by the committee. The first image is of the front side of my brouchre, these are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pages. The brochure shows what the expected image of the memorial, the site plan, and an advertisement of memorial bricks. Any sponsors can purchase a brick to commemorate someone who died, the sponsors name and the person's would be placed on the brick and be part of the memorial. To createt this brochure I used publisher, which was a fairly easy program, we used frehsmen year. The second picture is of the inside page pf my brochure.
9/11 Pancake Breakfast
For the Somerset Fire Department 9/11 Memorial they are ahving a pancake breakfast to raise funds. For this we were asked to makea flyer to advertise the event. I used publisher to make a 9/11 ribbon. Using the layers in Illustrator and other tools, i created teh ribbon. Then in Publisher and Photoshop i warped the text into the ribbon. I also used Illustrator to make my own pancakes to add a little more detail into my picture.
